Opening a museum-class at Chon Chighan High School

October 20th is the 85th birthday of my oldest brother Kasym Kurbanov, who passed away in 1993. He had a difficult life as he raised five children and five siblings after our parents passed away. After the World War II, where he served in Orenburg, Russia, he came back to our village Chon Chigan and started teaching. He later became a school principal and was well known and respected in the community. Very strict and demanding, but fair and caring, he was devoted to his work, and will always remain a Teacher to few generations.
To remember his name in our community, I decided to open a museum-class in his school. I've donated some money for it, and with the support of his children, relatives and colleagues, we had a wonderful celebration of his birthday by opening a small museum of Kasym Kurbanov.

On the pictures below (left to right): 1)His daughter-in-law Jannat-buvi and daughter Madinam are making sambus, an Uighur traditional pastry with lamb meat and carrots for the party. 2) Relatives, friends and colleagues in front of the Chon Chigan High School (Kazakh-Uighur school in Panfilov district, Almaty region). 3) Kasym Kurbanov's children and relatives are looking at the pictures in the school lobby.
